We hope this message finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing at Hillandale Smiles that has remained the same: our constant commitment to your safety. Our strict processes over the past 25 years have consistently made the quality care you receive at Hillandale Smiles both safe and comfortable.

As you have surely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. We;

Always wash our hands and wear single use gloves

Always use face masks, protective eyewear, and white clinic jackets

Always sterilize our instruments and disinfect all equipment and counters

We continue to closely monitor and update guidelines and the recommendations of infection control as provided by the American Dental Association (ADA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

When it is time for your next appointment, you may notice some changes along with our already strict infection control protocols. For example:

  • Our pre appointment email/text/phone calls will include some SARS-CO-19 screening questions.
  • Patients should arrive alone or with Essential Visitors (parents/medical aids/co-dependent decision makers)
  • Essential Visitors may stay with patient but cannot wait in reception area.
  • All non-essential visitors will be required to ‘wait’ outside and will be contacted as needed by phone/text
  • All patients and essential visitors are required to wear facemasks when entering the office
  • All patients and essential visitors are required to use hand sanitizer when entering the office
  • All patients and essential visitors will fill out and sign a health screening questionnaire and agree to having their temperature taken
  • All staff will have body temperatures taken at the start of their shift.
  • All staff that have direct conversation/interaction with patients will wear face masks
  • Protective barriers have been installed in administrative / business areas
  • Social distancing indicators are installed on flooring for your convenience
  • In accordance with guidelines we no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and other items which cannot be properly disinfected.
  • Upgrades to office air quality includes a conversion to a ‘constant air exchange system’ that adds 75% new outside air at all times.
  • Appointments will be managed to promote for social distancing between patients. This may limit appointment options.
  • We will do our best to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time.
  • Any exceptionally late/tardy arrivals may require your appointment to be rescheduled.
